Audio (Read by Jason Dohring & Sophie Turner):

SophieI liked, she did a wonderful job in my opinion. Not a favorite but liked her still.
Jason: I just was not feeling him for majority of the book. It was until towards the end (maybe the last 20-25% or so) that I noticed he was doing a bit better. Most of the book, he was a bit bland and flat.

Book:

Each time I read /listen to her books, I always wonder how much could have been left out and if her books could have been shorter. With each book, although I do enjoy them, I find it is slow and drawn out in many areas. I understand she needs "fillers" but many times, that is what I feel it is, fillers! As if she needs something else to put there to make the story a little longer. Now, don't get me wrong, I like her books a lot (evidently),  I just sometimes feel what I stated in the beginning of this paragraph. I will also find myself not always remembering what I read, evenwhile I'm reading. Even if I read/listen everyday, I can still forget what happened even a chapter ago. Overall though, I did enjoy the series. I liked the characters, but my favorite throughout the series, that never wavered, was Simon. Even when I was reading The Infernal Devices, I found myself wanting to get back toThe Mortal Instruments just because I missed Simon so much (although I enjoyed T.I.D. a bit more than T.M.I. and Jem was my #1 favorite in T.I.D.)

A lot of people say this one is the best in the series, well, I kind of agree. A lot of things got closure (a little too nicely in some areas but hey, that can be a good thing sometimes as we all like happy endings, well, most of us anyway). As always though, much of it is predictable, as most Y.A. You know things will be a certain way by the end, although you may not know the how of it all.

I will be going on to the short stories/novellas (which I have the bind ups of Simon & also Magnus' stories). Hopefully I will also be going on to Lady Midnight "series" as well.

Overall, right now, I would give the series as a whole, a 3.5-4/5 stars. I may one day up it, take it down, or make a decision between the 3.5-4 stars. lol....But, that rating isn't bad at all, it just means it had its flaws, but I did enjoy it.
