My Thoughts:

Audio:
I didn't find the audio until I was a good ways in (don't remember exactly how far in) but when I did find it, it helped me to zoom through the book a bit faster. I enjoyed the narrator. Her voice wasn't too high pitched/squeaky like many of the YA narrators I tend to come across sometimes, which made it just that much easier to listen to and I didn't have to tune out the 'annoying' in her voice.

Book:
Before the audio, although I was enjoying the book, I wasn't enjoying it as much as the Fill-In Boyfriend. I wasn't zipping through it as quickly as I did the other book when I did have/take the time to read. It was a slow start for me and gradually began picking up even before the I got a-hold of the audio, there was some pick up (the audio helped pick it up even more).

I loved the characters but as the book went on, the more I fell in love with them. I loved Caymen's sarcasm, or, as they kept calling it, her 'dry humor'. I really got her on that one as I am very sarcastic and find myself having to bite my tongue a lot, especially with people who don't know me that well and don't know I am joking (or, even ones in my family who isn't used to it). And even when I'm not joking, I am quite sarcastic and have to bite my tongue a lot.

In the beginning, I wasn't too sure about how I felt about Xander. I wanted to like him off the bat but I guess I wasn't quite sure where his head was at in the beginning. But, as the story went on, I couldn't help but like him and his sense of humor. I liked that he didn't take Caymen's sarcasm too personally and just rolled with it.

When it comes to Caymen's friend Skye and Skye's Boyfriend, I kept feeling like she was trying a bit too hard with those friendships sometimes. And was trying to hard with 'the other guy' in the picture. It's not that I didn't like them, but I just felt like some parts were just forced. Outside of that, as I said, I did like them. A Lot!

The ending was a little open ended. I would have liked to get at least some information about certain relationships (not just the one between Caymen and Xander). I would have also liked to know what happened with some things that were going on towards the end. Not quite sure if she did that as a possibility of doing a companion to this or not but I'd be open to reading it if she does.

This is my second book by Kasie West and so far, I am enjoying them. This one was a bit more of a 'family struggling with something' type of book and not quite as fluffy as The Fill-In Boyfriend but it still did have that fluffiness to it that I've been needing a lot of lately. I think that right now, I have just had my fill of paranormal/fantasy books and just need more light, sweet, mushy books. And Kasie West has given me that so far. I know I do want to go on to her other contemporaries and have ordered another one. I am not sure if I will read Pivot Point duology but I guess when I am in the mood for those, I will order the first one to see what I think.
