My Thoughts:
Audio:
She was really good. Made what would have been a rough go with this book, even easier to get through. Not because of it being a bad book because it wasn't, but because of the topic.
Book:
I literally just finished this book (typed as I was listening to the last bit of it) and this was not an easy book to read/listen to because of the topic of abuse, forgiveness and family who are separated, much, because of unforgiving and anger. But, as with what seems to be Debbie Macomber books, there will always be a great ending, even if not always a happy one. Actual reality in much of the areas of the ending.
I loved Cassie & Steve. It took some time to like Steve but I knew by the end, I would. Amiee, Cassie's 12 year old daughter, was all of that 12 year old! A bit much for me and sometimes made me want to reach through the book and shake her! Overall, she was a smart kid though. I was glad to see things work out for the best for Cassie, she really and truly deserved it. And there is a huge love for KFC by someone in this book and I do mean a huge love! 😄
I got this book because I read another book in this companion series that, at the time, I didn't know it was. I had won Any Dream Will Do in a giveaway (Goodreads if I remember correctly) and I loved it! When I realized it was a part of the series, I said I would go back to the first book. I am looking forward to the second in this series hoping I do enjoy it. So far, of the two, Any Dream Will Do is truly my favorite. It came during a time in my life that I needed it. The hope, the love, the coming of age story that I so needed to read.
